Life Coach
"Only as we grow up do we understand the impact that people who were close to us as children had on us ..."
I've been dreaming of writing this article for a long time. From early childhood, from the age of seven somewhere, I started going to different sections. My first class was gymnastics, then boxing, and finally I started practicing sambo-judo. Despite the fact that gymnastics was the first in the list of my sports hobbies, I found a truly real coach only when I started practicing sambo and judo.
By and large, this article is dedicated to him — the first serious coach in my life. This is the honored coach of Russia in sambo Plotnikov Pyotr Dmitrievich.
Probably, many people in their lives have had a person who helped you develop your personality. Some of them were parents, some were teachers at school, and some were coaches in a sports section or club. For me personally, and for many boys and girls, as far as I know, such a person was Peter Dmitrievich.
I lived in an area where there wasn't much entertainment. However, in those years, very few people had them in particular — there were no cell phones or computers — there were golden times, there was live communication. The street was our only entertainment. Of course, I am very glad that it was my main university in life. The street teaches you a lot. But not everything. And then He comes to the rescue, that iconic person who changes our lives.
I won't say that Pyotr Dmitrievich taught us anything special. Basically, I only taught techniques. But above all, he gave us the traditions of judo, he taught us that the main thing is not just to learn the technique, but to apply it technically and competently. He taught us more discipline than we were taught in school.
I can't say that I was a diligent student and listened with my mouth open to everything that the coach taught us, but ... the basic principles were very useful to me in life. I didn't become a super athlete, all my achievements were exclusively urban. But I always tried to do everything "technically". Take not by force, but by skill. Years have passed, and I understand that everything that Pyotr Dmitrievich did for us was not a short-term diploma, but exercises for years to come. The life base laid down in childhood, only in adult life, was fully revealed to me.
I still do sports. And I see how the kids come to the section, and reluctantly listen to what Sensei tells them. For many people, sports are something imposed by their parents. Recently, I have noticed with bitterness that children not only lose the desire to play sports, but also to go out in general, to communicate live at least with their peers. All communication often takes place via cellular communication or the Internet. Adults became introverted by looking at them, and under their careful guidance, children became introverted. I know that some parents generally forbid communicating with their peers, fearing that they will teach them "bad things". And this is partly true. Many teenagers now, in order to show their "smartness" and "looseness", do such things that their hair stands on end. But how much good can their parents offer their children?
For a long time now, I am not the same youngster who came to the sambo section. Now I consciously go to Aikido classes. I listen to everything Sensei says with my mouth open. I see in him a man who has worked hard to achieve his second dan in Aikido - this is Eduard Slobodchikov. I can see how much soul he puts into the training of each of us, whether it is a child or an adult, a young man or a girl. I see it because life has taught me to see. Children don't always see it. They pay little attention to traditions and respect for their elders. Not everyone is willing to learn anything at all. For many, this is just a distraction from the obsessive supervision of teachers at school and parents at home. But I am sure that many people will take something from these classes that will help them in the future, something that will be a kind of base for the rest of their life. I remember with gratitude Plotnikov Pyotr Dmitrievich. I respect and appreciate my sensei Slobodchikov Eduard Vladimirovich. I remember all my coaches, who to a greater or lesser extent contributed to my upbringing. And I want to tell my parents: "Don't force sports on your children, but try to explain to them that sports are not just something good for their health. First of all, it is self-discipline, and additional life experience, which to one degree or another, but very useful to them in adult life."

In full, this saying goes like this: "Elevate yourself — humiliate another." This proverb for me is in one category with another redneck proverb: "Afraid means respected."
